Want mobile post settings to be different to desktop

Home page posts - Desktop Requirement: image thumbnail on the left, text on the right, with the continue reading button underneath. Home page posts - Mobile Requirement: image full-width top, then the text, and then the button. Whatever I select the mobile view and make a change, it also makes the change to the desktop. How do I separate the two? Cheers Mark
