vertical menu doesn't turn in to hamburger soon enough

Hi, It looks like the responsive design with the vertical main navigation bar (instead of the horizontal top bar) causes this issue where if someone resizes their browser window to be shorter than the menu (or if they're on a smaller laptop as in the case of a client) the first menu items overlap with the site identification at the top left. Is a fix expected? thanks!
