Update Fabulous Fluid Pro from 2.7 to 2.9 without loosing the configuration

Hi, I want to update my Fabulous Fluid Pro Theme from 2.7 to 2.9. I downloaded the zip file and uploaded it into my Wordpress installation, but when I activate it, than my whole start page is lost. Also colours change. Is there any way to update the theme without loosing the configuration? Kind regards Andy
