textbox on featured slider : not everywhere

Hello, Is it possible to show the textbox on the featured slider only on selected images (posts), and not on others? We are actually working with free Kathmandu, and we want to use the slider to show our "hot news"(with link to a post), together with simple images without link. Other question : how do I change the fontsize of theses textboxes? Thanks !
