Stabilize homepage image slider

A site that uses the image slider seems to move up and down depending on the photo size, text description, whether there is a hyper link to "Read more." It is distracting as the stable image and content below it continues to move up or down depending on the resizing of the slider window. Is there a way to stabilize the window and just have more or less blank space there depending on its image size and text? We also added Catch IDs plugin.
