social media icons

Hi here my question regarding inserting the social media icons in catch box theme: I inserted them via the theme, but they only show up on the bottom of each each page and then only in pale grey. This is not what I want. I would like to have them higher up and in original colours. Is that possible and if so how? Have a good weekend! MMchen
