Social Links – blank page

Hi Im very much new to this, and used this theme as it was recommended on a simple to follow youtube video. if set up quite a bit, but when i tried to follow the social media set-up - i cant. what the tutorial video displays is different from mine, under appearance > theme options > social links. its just a blank page, while on the tutorial you just drop your FB page link into a series of preset tabs. As i am very very noob to most forms of IT but trying to learn, has anyone gor a step by step guide to putting a few social media tabs on my site that work? I have tried to use a few plugins, but none of the icons are displaying either.
