Slider arrows interfere with drop-down menus

When long menus open over the slider navigation arrows, the arrow shows through, making the menu text hard to read. The rest of the slider does not do show through the menu - only the arrows. Is there a way to change either the menu or the arrows so that they don't interfere with each other? Thanks! CB
