Search box in sidebar and not at top of page

A month ago, I asked how I could delete the top search bar in the theme, so that the header image would be flush to the top of the page: https://catchthemes.com/support-forum/topic/how-do-i-delete-top-search-bar/ With the advice given, I was able to do that, but I recently realized that it also disabled the search widget in the sidebar. Is it possible to have the sidebar search option without the top search bar?
