Rollover clickable captions as featured on the Zubrin Photography demo

How do I achieve the same effect as shown on the Zubrin Photography demo - i.e. rolling over a photo, dims the photo and brings up a clickable caption. I had assumed the Gallery plug-in would do this but it comes nowhere near. Please give me a clue as this was the major reason I bought this theme.
