Responsive – Homepage Slider not Page image

I am having to re-set up my website from Simple (which isn't allowing me to access Media) to Catch Responsive. I want my slider on the Home page to be of my popular POSTS not of Pages. When I go into Appearance and indicate the post it only gives me Pages to choose from. In Simple it allowed me to indicate the post number. What am I missing?
