Responsive CSS not working in child theme

Hi My responsive styling has stopped working since upgrading this theme. I have two questions: I had responsive styling to the main style sheet in the child theme but now it is ignored. How can I have this work? Alternatively, how do I set up a responsive style sheet in the child theme and point wp to it? Many thanks
