Resizing browser screws up formatting in SAFARI ONLY

When I use safari browser on an iMac or a laptop to view the responsive behaviour of the site - from computer to tablet to phone, it seems to work fine. However, when I pull the browser window back to normal, it screws up the formatting. The site then has to be reloaded to fix that problem. My client isn't at all happy. Also: I want to remove the shop now button from the home page. I need that image to be clean without that. How can I delete that? cannot find that at all. Finally: I would like to make the vertical dims of the header images of pages smaller - how can I do that? is there a menu function? Many many thanks for your help.
