Replacing the Feature Slider with a different plugin

My client has been using this theme and loves it, but the feature slider is somewhat limited in its versatility. I want to implement a different slider tool, but I need to make sure I can insert it into the same position as the existing feature slider. Is there a simple way for me to do this? The new slider provides shortcode, but the only place I can put it is in the buider, which places it below the template on the home page. Any help would be appreciated.
