Replace Homepage completely?

Hey Sakin, I have another question: I want to replace the homepage (with the feature image slider and the widgets) alltogether with another page that just contains simple text and maybe an image. Now the page that I created (and named 'Home') and set as the default homepage for the blog in the Wordpress read-settings is somehow always overwritten by the theme's default page (with slider ect.). So I can't get it to show the content I put on the 'Home' page when I open goldentricycle.com. Can you tell me how to ditch the theme's homepage completely? Cheers Felix
