Removing posts from front page or removing date and posted by

I'm trying to either a-remove the "Posted on January 28, 2013 by admin" and just have the post appear, or b-remove posts from the front page all together. I've tried every suggestion from the previous posts regarding this same topic   http://www.bdaie.net/wp
