remove space between header media and main page content

Hi, is there a way in the customize theme or even some simple CSS I can input to remove the strip of space between the header media and the main page content on the home page. There is a strip of just the background color between the two and it looks weird so wanted to get rid of the gap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
