Remove Continue Reading Link From Slider

I would like to remove the 'Continue Reading link from the slider on my homepage. I am using Everest Pro and the image slider I have tried this code: .featured_slider a.readmore { display: none; } in the Custom CSS but it doesn't seem to work.
