Remove comments box from static page

Hi I have installed Simple Catch and cannot seem to remove the "Leave a reply" text and comments box from static pages. I have selected 'Screen options' and ensured that "Comments" is not checked I have also selected Settings > Discussion and ensured that "Allow people to post comments on new articles " is unchecked Can you help please? Thanks
