Recent Posts on Home Page show more than selected category

Hi, I have used Customizer->Theme Options->Homepage/Frontpage options to set the active categories to show on my homepage. However, the results on the homepage do not reflect the changed options. I still get all posts, regardless of category. Can you help? Thanks!
