Question about the free ‘Catch Gallery’

Hi! Using the instructions posted here: https://catchplugins.com/plugins/catch-gallery/ I managed to create two galleries on our site. We're using the Gutenberg editor and the instructions state to create a "Classic" block to create and populate the gallery. Does the paid "Photofocus" theme have the same requirement for creating galleries or can we use Gutenberg gallery blocks with Catch Gallery? Thanks in advance!
