Question about Catch Essential Widgets

Hi!  Today, I ran Wordpress updates on a site that uses PhotoFocus Pro as its theme.  The Catch Essential Widgets plugin update broke Wordpress entirely.  Absolutely NOTHING loads at all, due to some kind of critical error.  I restored the site from a 2-week old backup, re-ran a bunch of updates and narrowed it culprit down to Catch Essential Widgets.   I renamed the directory for that plugin and now I can access the Wordpress Dashboard. Is this plugin critical to the functionality of PhotoFocus Pro? Thanks!
