Promotion and Featured background color change

At some point in the past week I was successful at changing the background color for the promotion and featured sections. Can't remember how I did it and nothing I do now is working. Tried adding this to css file, but it's not working either

adventurous-promotion-headlines {
	background-color: #f7e7ce;
}

adventurous-featured-content {
	background-color: #f7e7ce;
}
