Posts Showing Up As Featured Content on Home Page

I am using Gridalicious (the free version) because I am considering purchasing Gridalicious Pro. I set up the home page with three columns for Featured Content -- all linking to particular pages on my site. Unfortunately, however, as soon as I set up my Front Page/Homepage options to pull posts from the appropriate category, the post showed up not only in the space I wanted (underneath the three columns of featured page excerpts/links) but in the featured columns. Thus, the photo and title of my blog is now showing up as the photo and title of each of the columns (although the excerpt text from the page is remaining the same). Please help!
