Post's featured image won't expand

I can't get the featured image of the post to expand when you click on the post (like it does in the Chicago Pro demo). The image appears the same way that it is shown on the front page. I've played with the theme layout options, but nothing seems to change whether I select slider or full or something else for the featured image.
