Post format

When creating a new post, there is an option button on the side for "Format" where I can choose things like: Standard Aside Gallery Link Image Quote Status Video Audio Are there instructions anywhere explaining the differences in choosing different formats and how to integrate? I can't seem to find on the instructions page.
