Popup or Slidout menu not appearing on Homepage

I have been testing the theme and need to add a simple slideout menu and have popups show on the main homepage from the menu but neither of these work. The popups work on other pages within the site just not the homepage. If I change to a different theme then this work as expected. Could you please advise as to how these can show. Many thanks Simon
