Panel not appearing on my blog page.

I have our home page set ups as static, and our 'news and updates' page set up as the blog which is working fine. I have the default layout for the site as 'full page no side panel', but I can add the side panel as desired to other pages and have done so to the various 'posts' pages since I want the side panel on those as well. BUT the side panel will not show up on the main 'news and update PAGE' and it really needs to go there. Any ideas?
