Not installing

I had a previous version of Rock Star Pro which didn't load after installing PHP8.3.  When I activated the standard Rock Star theme, it loaded the page.  I purchased the latest version since the license key was no longer valid.  When I try to install the theme, it asks if it wants to update. I select update.  I see an error in WP, The active theme has the following error: "This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend.".  This is the same error I had with the version previously installed.  I don't see the theme on the Theme page. I tried clearing cache on hosting site.  Same issues.  Not sure where to look next.  For now the site is up on the regular version.  What are other options to look at?
