New post changed featured content and slider

I've recently installed this theme and I choose content for featured slider and featured content. When I publish a new post everything messed up - the new post appeared twice in the featured slider and three times in featured content. When I log in and go to settings, I see the content I've chosen, not the new post. What's causing this problem?
