Navigation in smaller viewports changes color

Howdy, When I resize the screen for smaller viewports in the browser the navigation text color for the drop down changes from white to black and becomes difficult to read when it is colored black. On blog post pages the navigation text disappears completely and there is now drop down. I have not made any custom css changes or anything. My browser is MSIE 9, win7.
