Menu color

I like this new theme and experimenting for a site change. Is there a quick way to change the menu and submenu text colors? I need to make them stand out against the background photo. I managed to get the main menu to change but not the submenu with .navigation-classic.absolute-header .main-navigation a {color: red;} also be good to change the submenu background color.
