Making Thumbnails

Hi again, Okay, so now I want to know about thumbnails. My website is: Trendfly.org I would like to create a layout of thumbnails for the main page as shown in my main page's post. Each thumbnail will direct the user to a different page, so I would like it when they hover over the thumbnails the color of the thumbnail to change plus some text to show. Example: http://www.theinfantree.com/ I would also like to know if I can add the "zoom and pan" effect to these thumbnails when they are hovered over. http://designshack.net/articles/css/joshuajohnson-2/
