Logo and homepage disappeared

My website logo is showing as missing. This is a new behavior. I tried reinserting it. That failed. I tried uploading a new image with a new image. It appears that it works but is now missing. The homepage slideshow also stopped working. I have made no changes to site except updating software. Please advise.
