Links, widgets & slider

Hi, What is the CSS to change the color of all of the links and heading links? The red has got to go! So far I have been able to change the 'read more', entry-title and site-title, but the others are not responding, even with important added. What am I missing? The other things I would like to do are I suspect in need of the Pro theme. In the free version is it possible for the slider to have images unrelated to a page? And is it possible to have three widgets above the footer instead of featured pages? Thank you
