layout and blog problem

Hello, I can't find how to do what I want. I work with parralax frame and I would like the change the layout width. I'd like my content to be a bit larger (and not to boxed like this) I'd like to know if I can delete the blog section on my front page (see front page below the slider) I'd like this place to be empty and go straight to the footer.
