Issues with video playback on header

I am having issues with using an MP4 header video. In MP4 format it plays in the preview on the left but not on the actual homepage. I have used the youtube option but cannot figure out how to remove the controls from the video. I have found the url commands to do it but cannot find the file that references the url I put in the GUI. Any help would be appreciated, especially with the MP4 option as it loads faster and can size it easier.
