Impossible to save and refresh modifying no of featured content

I tried to increment number of images in featured content in "featured content" from 4 to 10, I tried to save and refresh page but it doesen't work and it returns to 4. I need to work it out because I want 10 or 20 images sliding on 4 columns. thank you for any help
