Image sizes

Firstly I love this theme! Thanks. However I understand that there are different image sizes, but it only lets me upload one image (featured image) which is then cropped for the featured posts and thumbnails next to the posts. Is there a way to upload different images as the cropped images look messy and are cropping important parts of the image. my site is www.thetradiesiwfe.co.nz
