I moved from shared hosting to VPS, but installation on wordpress failed .

I moved from shared hosting to VPS, because of increased traffic and slow website. Uploaded all database and website files to VPS. Domain is pointing to VPS and SSL is installed but for some reason, wordpress said there was no theme and has not installed any of my posts etc. Has anyone experienced the same, and if so, how did you rectify the problem?
