How to use the Essential Content Types Pro plugin

Hi I'm trying to put some featured content on the site using the plugin. Ive purchased, downloaded and installed the plugin and have attempted to use it via the appearance-widgets-before content area. However, I'm not sure where I should be putting in the content I want to be shown, it doesn't ask me on the widget to input any post numbers or anything. Is there a way to choose which posts should be featured? Thanks Elliott
