HOW TO GET SUBPAGES UNDER PARENT PAGES

i HAVE TYPED A FEW PAGES TO GO UNDER PARENT PAGES ON THE MENU OF MY WP website. (Sorry for caps!) I am very frustrated as I have read, re-read and asked for help all to no avail. When I view the page in the dashboard I see that I have chosen the correct parent page to nest it under, but it doesn't show up on the menu on the live website. I am so angry at this point, I want to scrap the whole site after spending lots of money on it. Money I cannot afford to waste. Can anyone help me?
