How to disable link in the slider?

I'm trying to remove the link in the slider, which moves to the post. I tried to override the  simplecatch_sliders  function in functions directory. Removing

$ simplecatch_sliders. = '<a Href="'. Get_permalink().'" Title="Permalink is'.the_title('','',false).'">',

unfortunately does not help.
