How to create a child theme … Personal Trainer Pro Theme

Hello! I need to create a child theme for the Personal Trainer Pro Theme. I am wanting to use the Advanced Custom Fields plugin and it suggests using a child theme for this. I just want to make sure I do it right and not screw up the main theme. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Chris
