How do you change the font color and read more box on the featured sliders

I'm currently using the Clean Business theme (free version) and would like to change the font color and read more box from the featured sliders I'm using. I've attempted to insert many different CSS code in the additional CSS area but nothing seems to be working. I have three featured slide. The website is not live yet....just need to make this change to go live. Thanks, John
