How do I insert pictures into fader on home page?

I apologise in advance for this but I am totally new to this theme and have searched and searched but cannot find the answer. The picture box displaying different pictures every few seconds on the home page is what I am talking about, (don't know what it's official name is). I want to put some of my own pics in there but cannot find how to edit it. Can someone please help me before I start tearing my hair out. I imagine it is quite simple, WHEN YOU KNOW HOW!
