How can I completely remove the excerpt from featured content slider?

Because I am using a separate slider plugin without physical text input, my featured content slider will show the plugin code. I would like to completely remove the excerpt, when excerpt character amount is set to 0, I still see a . or decimal, if anyone can help COMPLETELY removing excerpt so all I see is the page title, and the default link text.
