Homepage Slider Image / blog image

Hi When you create the homepage slider image that links to the blog posting..is there way to show a smaller version of that slider image on the blog? Like if you click the slider image that is full size..and you get to the blog page it cuts off the image.. Can you make it so it shows the entire image on the blog page? Thanks
