Hiding Tagline

This being the my first ever website I wanted to ask the following: How can I have a tagline but yet not have it visible on the header? With placing my own header, the tagline showing just makes it look a bit asymetrical. If there is a 'short code' (as I have seen in the Wordpress Forum, 3 year old comment) could you let me know and also how to place it in the CSS.Style page. Thanks....www.russ-stewart.com
