Hide footer area & Posts page

Hi,I am now using Catch Everest theme and it's really great. I wonder whether there is a way to hide the Footer Area, as I'd like to show them in homepage instead of every page. One more question,I want to put all my posts into one page,and I did set my "News" Page as the post page in [Setting]——[Reading]——[Front page displays],but nothing came out on my "News" page.Did I miss any steps?
